“How to be confident” - James Smith

Confidence is always an illusive and sometimes extremely hard to come by phenomenon, whether that be in our professional or personal lives.

For me, it’s certainly no different. Confidence is always something that has never come easy to me, however it is one of the most important things when it comes to achieving my best on the field.

The question is how can you still achieve greatness when your confidence is down the drain? After listening to James Smith’s “How to be confident” audiobook, it simplified this into a way that has opened my eyes to another side to this phenomenon!

A few of my key take aways included:

- Zeigarnik Effect - An action finished even if failed, is better than inaction

- “If you always look at what you have in life, you will always have more, if you always look at what you don’t have, you will never have enough” - Oprah Winfrey

- Belief in your performance is more influential than performance in-itself

Some notes that I took out of it are below! Feel free to have a read and would love to hear people’s thoughts on this, highly recommend the book.
